World Premiere Production at NPTC’s Women’s Work Festival

As a member of the short play lab at New Perspectives Theatre Company, I’ve been working on a one-act play called One More Cup of Sugar. It’s been workshopped at each monthly meeting of the lab, and now it’s time to put the play up on its feet for its world premiere production (now those are some fun words to say) in the 7th Annual Women’s Work Short Play Festival.

This brand-spanking new play was generated from NPTC’s theme for this year, “On the Margin”. The story centers around the question of what constitutes abuse as one woman tries to figure out when exactly everything went so wrong.

Ghenet Pinderhughes, fellow lab member, is directing actors Ciara Constanti, Kesley Foltz and Mike O’Toole. Huge thanks to these talented artists and the never-tiring folks at New Perspectives Theatre – and a big shout-out to the fellow writers in the lab, whose short plays will be premiered at the festival alongside mine. Here’s to Joan Castagone, Charlotte Ortiz Colavin, Teresa Lotz, Yani Pérez, and Catherine Weingarten!

To read more about the production, you can check out the article about the lab and its festival on BroadwayWorld.Com, or look at NPTC’s website.
